You probably never thought of your Wii or XBox as gateways to spiritual enlightenment. Deepak Chopra and Leela plan to change that. Leela purportedly leads players more easily into the gap between the conscious and the subconscious. It’s based on the concept of the Seven Chakras, which are energy centers inside every human being. Through seven movements and meditations, in concert with the game on the screen, Leela helps players connect with the Chakras.
Chopra intends for Leela to be a playful, but mindful and focused, journey of mind, body and spirit, combining ancient wisdom and techniques with technology. The goal? For each player to achieve inner sense of harmony, rejuvenation and balance. Read: relax. Players can see and measure their breathing through Leela. The game also gives feedback as it’s played. It has over 40 levels of game play to keep them tuning in to get tuned.
Leela‘s been described as “a game that puts the players into “the mind expanding world of hallucinogens without the use of drugs” since there’s subliminal context, arresting visuals, music in this immersive game.
So, do you think you’re ready to take your spiritual practices into the technological age?
